Facts about Osteoarthritis
Osteoarthritis is a chronic disease that usually affects several different joints in the body. Pain and swelling can occur in almost eny joint, but the knees, hips, hands and the upper and lower back are most often targeted. Osteoarthritis is the most common type of arthritis in senior citizens. It is sometimes known as degenerative joint disease (DJD) (or, in the back, degenerative disc disease(DDD). Arthritis patients often experience joint stiffness, swelling, discomfort and pain.
