  • Weight Training Fights Osteoporosis
    All of us will incur osteoporosis, or lowered bone density, at some time in our life. It begins about age 35 and in later years can lead to loss of mobility, breaks and fractures. There are other factors besides age such as menopause, smoking, taking certain medications and low calcium intake that can cause osteoporosis. Exercise recommendations in the past have been to participate in regular weight bearing activities. New research has indictated that weight training may be a better choice. Check up on some of this new research and see why you may switch to weight training if you're at risk or have osteoporosis.
