Has a personal disease or impairment kept you from trying to obtain a life insurance policy? If so, I recommend that you shouldn't give in just yet. Granted, there are some conditions that will definitely make you uninsurable, but unless you are absolutely sure you should get in contact with your insurance agent and give it a shot. Several years ago I I came across a an individual that was convinced that he couldn't buy life insurance coverage at all because he's a diabetic. I told him that although I understood his situation, I thought it couldn't hurt to go ahead and fill out the paperwork, after all, you just never know what might happen. You've probably already guessed, he was approved. I must admit that even I was a bit surprised, but that's proof that it doesn't hurt to try. In this case, the Underwriter mailed a form back asking a series of medical questions and, after going over the responses decided that this individual was insurable after all. I can't sit here and promise you that if you have a serious condition that you'll qualify to purchase life insurance. That wouldn't be right to you or very professional on my part. However, just because you happen to have a specific condition or disorder doesn't immediately diqualify you from consideration for a life insurance policy. The person that makes the final decision is the above mentioned "Underwiter". This individual reviews the application and, after taking all things into consideration, she or he will make a final decision. This person's job isn't created to embarrass you, pick on you, or single you out. Their job is simply to protect the interests of the company and nothing more. They have a specific set of guidelines that they are made to follow when reviewing applications for life insurance and their decision isn't personal. The good news is that you might actually be within these guidelines and not be aware that you're eligible. That's because you may have just assumed you couldn't be covered and that's isn't always the case. If you have a disabling injury or disease and need need to buy life insurance for yourself then, unless you've already been told that you're not eligible, why not answer a few simple questions about yourself? By doing this you'll know without a doubt whether or not you're able to buy the coverage that your loved one's must have in the event of your passing.
